NASA top leaders and senators on Thursday, March 22 failed to agree on an immediate solution following the ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader.
This is despite the Wetangula ejection threatening to tear NASA down the middle after the senator warned of a “messy” divorce.
Co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Wetangula while speaking to journalists after a summit meeting dodged queries as to what the future held after the Bungoma senator lost his seat to his Siaya counterpart James Orengo after a majority of ODM senators voted him out.
Raila while addressing the press said the meeting with NASA senators fully endorsed the MoU signed between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House.
“We had a very cordial discussion with the senators and we briefed them on several issues that are of concern to the country..the senators fully endorsed the MoU signed between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the People’s President Raila Odinga,” he said.
The ODM leader added the summit, which another NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi skipped, agreed that the opposition senators will hold a retreat in two weeks’ time to further discuss the Wetangula ouster.
“Honorable Moses Wetangula also had an opportunity to respond to issues raised by the senators,” Raila added.
